Overheard But Not Overlooked

While Jocelyn has been running the gamut of extra-festival activities, I've been taking in the art and science of La Festival itself. For sure, some people are suffering from a little cinennui, but most are eager to talk about what they've seen and what they're doing here. A few highlights, in absolutely no order:

Kelly Osbourne — gamine, with a regrettable blond bowl cut — speaking for all in attendance at the midnight Destricted screening when she announced to her posse of Brit boys in girls' designer jeans: "I'm never having sex again."

Former model-cum-actor Yasmine Bleeth holding forth sternly at the Marriott while a bevy of male journalists tried unsuccessfully to control their salivary glands.

Ahmad Razvi, the former Pakistani rock star-New York street vendor-star of Man Push Cart, charming the ski pants off all and sundry at the bus stop in front of Grub Steak.

Actress Lili Taylor striding purposefully down Main Street in boots made for walkin'.

Yoav Shamir, the softspoken director of the Israeli documentary 5 Days, politely telling an American journalist at the Yarrow Hotel that it would be better if she saw his film before interviewing him.

Lanky, heavy-browed Angry Monk director/screenwriter Luc Schaedler booming about the importance of independent, online media. We likey.

Actor Michael Rapaport, that tall, broad-shouldered drink of water, giving me a bear hug outside Village at the Lift when I told him I was a big fan.

Miss Hilton If You're Nasty whining "Where's my boyfriend?" at Blender's Damian Marley show. Come on, did you really think we'd make it through the whole festival without mentioning Brand Paris? And for more on our favorite celubutante, check out our video footage of the show.

The Onion's film critic Nathan Rabin answering his own question to model/actress Jenny Shimizu at the Gay Lounge brunch: To wit: What's it like to sleep with Angelina Jolie? Uh, really, really fun.

And our favorite Grinch Who Stole Sundance, film critic Anthony Kaufman, was heard loudly professing his disdain for "Suckdance" in festival headquarters. Again.
