CHRISTINA PRESTON
Christina Preston, who lives in Washington, DC and New York, uses experimental photography
and mixed media to educate her audience on the taboo issues associated with
depression and mania, such as the alarming statistics on suicide. After
getting a BFA in photography from NYU in 2004, Christina received the Daniel
Rosenberg Travel Fellowship for her continuing project involving light
deprivation, specifically in the Alaskan interior — this show opens in
December at the Gulf and Western Gallery in New York. She is also currently
completing a book concerning the multitude of medications prescribed for
bipolar disorder, entitled Junkie.
