CHI #156: Cover Design Credit
Artwork by TERRY EVANS
As described in this week's Flavorpill, Terry Evans' work inquires into the nature of prairie — from its native state to its use, abandonment, and care. She photographs from ground and aerial perspectives and within herbaria collections and mammal-storage areas in museums (she's recently captured a series of 19th-century prairie specimens).
Evans has exhibited widely, including one-person shows at the Chicago Art Institute, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and the Field Museum of Natural History. She is a Guggenheim Fellow and has work in the permanent collections of New York's Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, George Eastman House, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
