An avid lensman since the age of 17, David Rose began his photography career after completing a photojournalism course at the University of Sheffield. After his initial start as a freelance photographer for the Evening Standard, Rose joined the Independent when it launched in 1987. Rose worked continuously with the newspaper until 2002, during which time he covered the era's major political events. Now a member of the Panos photo agency, Rose continues to capture the realities of modern life with unflinching honesty.
Rose's work is currently on view in the exhibition Slave Britain, featured in this week's Flavorpill LDN, at St Paul's Cathedral from Wed 21 Feb - Thur 29 Mar (Mon-Sat: 8:30am-4pm / St Paul's Cathedral, EC4, 020.7236.4128 / Tube: St Paul's).
