Mike Davis is originally from Cincinatti, Ohio. While in Ohio, Davis worked on theatrical set design and construction from 1985-1992 and started tattooing friends at home in 1988 during his spare time. He then moved to San Francisco in 1992 and started working at Everlasting Tattoo, which he eventually came to own. Davis' interest in tattoo art led to him painting in 1998, and by the year 2000 he was painting on a full-time basis. He is inspired by Robert Williams, Hieronymous Bosch, pre-WWII art, Mannerist art, and most things Renaissance. Davis has never had any formal art-school training, instead educating himself through books and travel. He has been on the cover of Juxtapoz magazine and is exclusively represented by White Walls gallery in San Francisco, co-owned by Justin Giarla and Andres Guerrero.
