NICK DEAKIN
Nick Deakin grew up in a small corner of Yorkshire, England. Away from the city and neon stimulus he found solace in his drawings, and after a fine art degree and some travel it's these drawings that he returned to.
Deakin's approach to his work is quite visceral, with nearly as much emphasis on texture as content. His are often abstract renditions of friends and strangers; more often than not though, they're distorted, hacked-up versions of himself.
Deakin works freelance from his home studio and has been commissioned by clients such as Moby, Computer Arts, Vancouver magazine and Gingko Press.
