Kevin Zucker was born 1976 in New York City and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. He received his BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and his MFA from Columbia University. His art uses a language that is simultaneously real and artificial, handmade and mechanical, that takes place in the past, present, and future — all coming together and falling apart at the same time. Much of the content and imagery in Zucker's recent work has to do with systems for archiving, storage, and display, often on the Internet. The artist presents to us what he calls "a museum of a moment in the development of a technology and a culture" — a collection of archetypes that individually exist as models first, with the potential to be brought into being in the actual world.
Zucker's exhibition Search Within Results is up at Greenberg Van Doren Gallery through Sat 3.3 (Tue-Sat: 10am-6pm).
